Walter Purkis In Winnipeg, Manitoba
I have been poring over historical Manitoba newspapers and have come across a few mentions of our Walter Purkis, from London, witness at the inquest of Nichols.

His address in Winnipeg was 556 Heatherington/Hetherington Avenue. The street is now called Hector Avenue. He was involved in trades union councils.

Here is what I found on him:

There is only one place where my household buy their fish within the local area, and that is Walter Purkis and Sons. They have been here for years and is extremely well kept. The guys who serve are really friendly and once you go a few times, they will remember you and buying your fish becomes like a social event.

I am no fish expert, but I really love eating it, and everything here is of a real high quality. Beats the supermarkets by far. They have a huge selection and walking in gives you that fresh feeling. You can also find some decent jars of sauces that are good to cook fish in and they would have no problems in giving some advice. The best fish in London!
