Frightening Tenant

An attention-catching statement that could perhaps lead to the discovery of Jack the Ripper, was this day made to the security committee of Whitechapel by a young woman. The woman stated that about two years ago in that district she let rooms to a young man who seemed to have no work, although he still had plenty of money. It was reported, that he received money from his father and his brother, who was a doctor. He had many clothes, revolvers, rifles and other strange tools. Usually in the evenings he went out at 5 hours, and often, late at night when he got home, the woman noticed blood stains on his clothes. Once he came home with several pieces of liver which he said that he received from a friend on board a cattle boat. She saw that he was wrapping a piece of liver in a newspaper and sending it to the safety committee. Other pieces he packed up in envelopes, which were addressed to a few news agencies and the police - they were all addressed, but he forgot to send them. He had a great number of copper wedding rings at a certain time and took a blood-stained white apron home, to his wife to wash at the hole. After the last murder in Whitechapel he disappeared for good. According to the woman he left behind a pair of slippers, and a diverse long overcoat with blood stains. The woman appeared to be very nervous, she had not before dared to tell the secret because she feared that the Ripper would get her. She was convinced that the man who had lived with her, was the real Jack the Ripper, the murderer of Whitechapel.
