Jack Promises To Rip In Brussels

Post by Karen on Thu 22 Apr 2010 - 8:21

Brussels Expects Jack the Ripper.

One person - most likely a faint joker - has found pleasure in writing the Gazette and the Chronicle, to the first a post card; to the second a letter sent from London, in which the woman killer Jack the Ripper announced that he would continue his murder spree in Brussels. The postcard sent to the Gazette bears the stamp of the 22nd of December and the content is in English. Here is the translation:

Dear Boss, I come next week. Beware. I'll cut.

Jack the Ripper

The Chronicle says that the writing of the letter it received from London, is quite similar to the facsimiles of the letters signed Jack the Ripper reported by the English newspapers. Here is the letter sent to the publisher of the Chronicle:

Dear Boss, I am pleased to announce that I have been a week at sea and will go to Brussels to spend holidays. Since I've killed the little Mary Jane, did you not hear about me not speak, except on my latest events in London.
I am confident that you will hear within a few days time of my actions because I intend not to leave Brussels before thirteen women have had their throats cut.
Hoping that your police will be as ready as in the past.

I remain yours affectionately,
Jack the Ripper.

Next to the left of the signature is a bloodstain. This letter is exhibited in the hall of the Chronicle Telegram.
