Genealogical Notes

Sir Melville MacNaghten
Melville Leslie MacNaghten was overseeing the family tea plantation in India at the time of the 1881 Census. However, I discovered that he married Dora Emily Sanderson in the final quarter of 1878 in Steyning, Sussex. I was unable to locate Mrs. MacNaghten in the Census of 1881, so it is likely that she accompanied her husband to India. Melville Lesley MacNaghten was born in West Ham, Essex during the 3rd quarter of 1853.
