The murders in London

Yesterday in London, the workmen in the process of demolishing the theater of the Opera House (located in the district's busiest section of London, not far from the Palace of Parliament), which had been half-built a few years ago, but has never been completed, found a woman's mutilated corpse, which lacked the head, arms and legs. The corpse was wrapped in a cloth and was in a state of very advanced decomposition. From a cursory look at the corpse it has been found to have been mutilated by a clumsy hand. We will carry out a more comprehensive medical examination. We had found these past few days in various points in London, two arms of a woman presumed to belong to the body discovered yesterday. They organized a body of policemen who, with their bicycles, will travel silently each night the bad neighborhoods and will have more chance to discover the murderer suddenly. The most amazing incidents occur. A newspaper reporter, after having completely shaved, disguised himself yesterday as a woman and traveled at night, the neighborhood of Whitechapel in the hope of being attacked and thus discover the murderer. Policemen who crosses and recognized his sex arrested him, thinking he was the killer trying to disguise the fact. The reporter took great pains to establish his identity. The police will borrow his idea and explore the shady neighborhoods by agents disguised as women. The Central News has received a new letter signed Jack the Ripper, the author claims to be the author of the assassinations of Berner Street and Mitre Square. This letter, provided to the authorities, is all stained with blood.
