Elizabeth Jackson "L.E. Fisher"

Post by Karen on Wed 10 Mar 2010 - 23:02

As the telegraph announced yesterday a new murder, which points out that the recent crimes of Jack the Ripper, have been held in London. Tuesday morning, and almost simultaneously, two packages containing pieces of a woman's body were found in the Thames, near Horsleydown. One package was reported floating to the attention of an individual by children playing on the shore. He managed to recover it and was terrified, upon opening it, to find the lower part of a woman's body cut into pieces. These remains, which appeared to be but a short time in the water, were wrapped in the pant leg of a woman. A ship, containing some policemen of the Thames came to pass, the package was reported and they carried it to the position on the riverbank. While they were examining it, we learned that another packet containing the other part of the female body had been found near the Albert Bridge. These remains were also casings from another leg of a woman's trousers. The medical examination showed that they belonged to the same woman's body. They provided valuable information, it was marked L.E. Fisher. The police opened an immediate investigation with the result that the victim had been killed within forty-eight hours and her body was dissected by a person with some knowledge of anatomy.

Elizabeth Jackson

Post by Karen on Thu 11 Mar 2010 - 2:50

The Scotland Yard detectives have finally arrived, to their great satisfaction, to establish the identity of the unknown remains, found in the waters of the Thames and in surrounding localities. Everything tends to indicate they would be in the presence of a new crime committed by the legendary Jack the Ripper. The body would be that of Elizabeth Jackson, who had been seen alive for the last time May 31. Two years ago, this woman served at Chelsea, where she had gone to live in Ipswich with a cutter-grinder named Fairclough, we can not find him and he abandoned her there six or eight months ago. Revenue in London without resources, Elizabeth Jackson would have been, like all other victims of Jack The Ripper, a regular of the lower class. It is believed that the police know more than has been said, as if everything was merely identifying the victim and there is no trail of the murderer, we are going back into the same panic that followed the previous crimes, which is hardly reassuring for the public safety.

A.L. Fisher

Post by Karen on Tue 23 Mar 2010 - 17:25

The London correspondent reports:

In the Thames were present, in two different locations, a woman's body parts wrapped in clothes. According to the assessment of experts, they had been in the water for about two weeks. It is said that the fragments show the same mutilation as the victims of Jack the Ripper, and although the latter has not officially confirmed, the turmoil in the East End, has been mostly very large. A correspondent of the Central News reports that the body parts had been only 24 hours in the water, the womb, where the lower body was wrapped, bore the name A.L. Fisher. The murdered woman would have been betweeen 20 to 25 years old. The police investigated, but it so far, lacks any track of the criminals.
