M.O. and signatures as tributes to other Killers/Outlaws

Post by Guest on Tue 12 Nov 2013 - 13:32

The Zodiac Killer claimed he had escaped Dear Lodge Prison in Montana. (Wiki) That was the same prison Carl Panzram escaped from.

The Zodiac also used a costume reminiscent of that of Ned Kelly.

It would seem some serial killers do homage to other killers. I would suggest the Ripper did the same thing when he used the word Juwes in the graffito. He was paying homage to the Three Ruffians. There was also an historic Masonic murder committed in Mitre Square, as I remember.

I have other examples but they are homages to serial killer suspects in unsolved or controversial cases and they are therefore speculative...
