I've risked a lot of money by attempting to give readers of Karen's site some insight into the case.

You obviously missed the part where I mentioned that my "Jack" was not on any list of suspects that I am aware of.

That excludes Thomas Neill Cream who was in Joliet Prison in 1888.

Apparently that is not good enough.

I'll desist.

No, I was only suggesting talking Cream because he might have a similar profile to your suspect and he committed crimes similar to Jack.

RDS was in London Hospital during the murders. No one thinks he could have snuck out or in.

I also have a definite suspect but don't talk about him per se, only around my theories by talking about what I consider virtual dopplegangers. Like Roslyn.

If you have found Jack, you will have absolutely no doubts.

There is one man only who ticks every box.

Cream is pretty much his opposite.

Good Luck!

Does he have any similarities to Roslyn D'Onston?

To what do you attribute the reference to Juwes in the GSG?

No offense, however as previously mentioned,I have too much at stake for a continued game of hot and cold.

Both those questions have been answered recently.Probably in this thread.

When the movie is released, you will understand.

Ordered "The Boston Strangler" last night.I've often considered the split camera technique for the night of the double murder.
Apart from that,I hope to avoid the film's shortcomings.

Long considered using Eddowes in a similar manner to Janet Leigh's role in Psycho,in that the "protagonist" (incorrect term in this case) is killed off "early".

More as a "precedent" and homage than copying.Just the way the facts panned out really....but that needs to be "rationalized" to "Hollywood".

I was ten when that movie was released.Tall enough to gain admission though.

The Black Sword of Falworth, Houdini and The Vikings are movies I cherish from my childhood.

Ciao!

The Boston Strangler main weakness is the far-fetched psychology presented with mirrors and split screen to emphasize dual personalities. The Jekyll and Hyde psychology where Jekyll doesn't know about Hyde isn't convincing to the average person. But I can see how they had to come up with some possible theory to explain a bogus suspect.

I really like the print ad:

Haven't watched The Boston Strangler since it's Australian release over 40 years ago.

Using split screens for the night of the double murder appeals to me.

Jack at his official meeting,Kate in jail and Liz and BS man awaiting them both.I like the contrasts.

Only reason I've purchased the movie. Also bought Houdini....the DVD,not the corpse....this is not Casebook!

I get what you mean, however Jekyll was very aware of Hyde.

Would love to have read Stevenson's first draft.Have a suspicion as to why he burnt it and rewrote.Ain't tellin'!

Are you talking about this recent news:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn23910-dna-finally-nails-the-notorious-boston-strangler.html#.UpTOBvKEhes?

The police DNA test raises so many unanswered questions, you have to wonder about the positive ID.
According to Casey Sherman, Mary Sullivan’s nephew, he contacted the Boston police and asked about possible DNA evidence in The Strangler case:
“I made several inquiries to the Boston police department and they told me flat out that they did not have any physical evidence left in the Boston Strangler case to test for DNA evidence.” http://www.unsolved.com/ajaxfiles/leg_boston_strangler.htm
The original Boston Strangler book was full of exaggerations, misinformation, rumours, hoaxes and untruths, all added to make the story more interesting. Unsolved cases are rife with this sort of thing.

Here it says his wife burned the first draft. Mrs. Stevenson certainly wasn't a Mrs. Stephen King. She saved Carrie from the garbage.

But what if the killings were a type of sacrifice? To say that the killer or killers hate women is sort of like saying that God didn't love Jesus because he demanded he be a blood sacrifice for humanity. Isn't it?mystery of iniquity wrote:

Killing women named Mary, one who recently gave birth to a son, changes everything.

He's bringing attention to a mother and child even if it was just a rumour. It's the media and the authorities who turn that attention to a positive into a negative.
