Woman Found Drowned in River Lea

Post by Karen on Thu 21 Jul 2011 - 21:56

CORONERS' INQUESTS.
(From our Special Sunday edition of last week.)

FOUND DROWNED IN THE RIVER LEA.

On Saturday Mr. Collier held an inquest at Poplar on the body of Emma Moulton, aged 67, a widow. It appeared from the evidence that the deceased at times was rather childish. On Wednesday afternoon she left home to go for a walk, and as she did not return information was given to the police. The same evening Constable 142 K found the body of the woman floating in the river Lea, near Gunmakers'-bridge. The jury returned an open verdict of "Found drowned."
