Gull's Paralysis

Post by Karen on Fri 26 Nov 2010 - 8:00

Dr. William Gull, after suffering from numerous strokes and transient ischemic attacks (TIA's), was seized with paralysis. How can a man who is paralyzed wield a knife with any degree of accuracy?

Another bit of romance has fallen under my notice. It seems that it has fallen to the lot of Sir William Gull's daughter to meet with a love adventure quite after the approved pattern of a three-volume novel heroine. It will be remembered that when Sir William was seized with paralysis some months ago at Pitlochrie, Dr. Theodore Acland, a young and promising M.D., was elected to attend and watch the eminent physician's case. Miss Gull was her father's constant companion and nurse, and so it came about that the two watchers by the patient's bed found ample time and opportunity to study each other's character, with the result that their marriage is now announced as one of the events of the immediate future. Here are verily all the elements of a seaside library story.
